The next few pages
are about two of my very dear friends,
and one of them suffering with CCL
or Chronic Lymphocytic Leukemia.

Sometimes, someone comes into your life
at the most unexpected times.
You have never met them in person,
but a friendship forms
and those bonds are deep-set.
They are there when you need them,
and you are there when they need you.
Tony and Dianne came into my life just like that.
Then, I had my major stroke.
Tony and Dianne was very distraught,
as were many of my dear friends.
Tony owned Seven Wonders of the World, and Dianne, his wife,
tried to keep things straight, as much, as she could.
They both poured their heart and soul into that competition.
Then, suddenly, they disappeared.
Of course, the real friends were worried to death.
No word, no way to get in touch.
Finally, Dianne came to us and told us Tony had developed CCL.
We were devastated.
Due to his health, and medical treatment being so far,
and taking up so much time,
they decided to give themselves a break from competitions.
I guess, deep down, they are what really
inspired me to start my own web competition.
Tony and Dianne, I love you like my own family,
and I miss you both so much.

Sometimes life seems hard to bear
Full of sorrow, trouble, and woe,
It's then I have to remember
..that it's in the valleys I grow.

If I always stayed on the mountain top
..and never experienced pain,
I would never appreciate God's love
And would be living in vain.

I have so much to learn
And my growth is very slow,
Sometimes I need the mountain tops,
But it's in the valleys I grow.

I do not always understand
Why things happen as they do,
But I am very sure of one thing.
My Lord will see me through

My little valleys are nothing
When I picture Christ on the cross
He went through the valley of death;
His victory was Satan's loss.

Forgive me Lord, for complaining
When I'm feeling so very low.
Just give me a gentle reminder
That it's in the valleys I grow

Continue to strengthen me, Lord
And use my life each day
To share your love with others
And help them find their way.

Thank you for valleys, Lord
For this one thing I know
The mountain tops are glorious
But it's in the valleys I grow.
